Electrochemiluminescence bioassays for personalized diagnosis

The main objective of the project is to consolidate a multidisciplinary collaboration between groups of the Euroregion Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Euskadi-Navarra, in the field of biomedicine and the silver economy. Before that, the ECLiCARE project will explore the capacity of smartphones as an instrumental platform for molecular diagnosis tests based on Electro-Generated Chemiluminescence (ECL). ECLiCare is clearly oriented to the development of new products and services based on personalized diagnostic devices for older people, supported by information technologies such as artificial intelligence, Big Data and communications.

The initial hypothesis of the project is that it is possible to use a mobile device as an instrumental platform for the realization of personalized diagnosis. This is a highly opportune proposal, since it would allow advancing the state of the art of point-of-care devices in an environment of high connectivity and personalization, through the collaboration of the three complementary and highly competitive research groups of the Euroregion The project is integrated by research teams specialized in new materials and printed devices (BCMaterials, Euskadi, ES), Information Technologies and Communications (UPNA, Navarra, ES), and the development of new detection methods and tools through ECL (Institut des Sciences Moléculaires, Université de Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, FR).
